Insurance Repairs
When a natural disaster happens, we provide a rapid emergency response and work hard to ensure the problem is rectified as efficiently as possible. We come out and access the damage, produce a report and carry out the repairs promptly to the highest standard.
Conservation & Listed Buildings
Having spent many years working on period and listed buildings in the rural South West we appreciate the traditional methods of construction such as the use of lime mortar and natural stone. This, combined with up to date technology and materials mean our clients benefit from modern styling coupled with traditional techniques to give the perfect balance of old and new.
RG Johnson Construction are able to provide a complete service, helping to design your project from start to finish. We’ll take care of everything including: Listed building consent, planning applications and structural calculations. We will also work from drawings provided independently by other professionals, architects or surveyors, or on your own instructions.
Rennovation / Alteration
Working with stone, slate or granite is an art form of building. Each piece is individual and placement is key to the completed project. RG Johnson Construction have experienced partners within the local quarries and reclamation services who can advise on matching stone and brick to ensure that any additions to properties, whether listed or not, blend with existing materials.
Ralph is a highly skilled Stonemason with many years of experience. He has been privileged to have had the opportunity to work on many listed buildings and barn conversions, as well as the more basic garden walls. More recently we have been awarded a contract with Chard Methodist Church.

Formwork
We are highly skilled in a broad range of formwork projects, including retaining walls, ground beams and concrete frames. From Public to Private sector, commercial to domestic, we will deliver to your requirements and to the agreed deadline.
Foundations
We can manage groundworks on developments from site clearance, drainage systems, laying foundations right up to damp proof course for new builds providing the perfect canvas to start the building work.
Hard Landscaping
Our skilled work force has provided numerous hard landscaping services covering site strip and deposition of topsoil, major excavation, filling, disposal works, site preparation / enabling works, removal of contaminated ground and subsequent remediation.
Driveways
With driveways, the surface or paving is only a small percentage of the work, the preparation is the most important part of the job. We take the time to ensure all drives are fully excavated and import new quality subbase, making sure all jobs are finished to the highest spec.
Extensions and New Builds
If you have the space available, an extension can bring a new dimension to your living area and enhance your property. Even a small extension can bring a dramatic improvement to the way you live.
RG Johnson Construction can help and guide you through all the necessary legal and technical requirements and decisions. You may require the services of an Architect who will look at your property as well as listen to your needs and budget, and we can recommend and advise you in this decision if you do not already have drawings prepared. We understand that extending your home is a major expense and a decision never taken lightly. We endeavor to make the process as stress-free as possible.
Project Management
We can project manage the whole process, should that be your requirement, for example; with a kitchen extension, in addition to the structure of the extension, we can help with the design and placement of kitchen cabinets, the style and material of the kitchen worktops, the sink and taps, tiles and flooring; all working to your budget and taste.
We have successfully completed an extensive range of property extensions during our many years in business, from traditional to modern, and both large and small scale.
Shopfitting & Maintenance
RG Johnson Construction are experienced in complete refurbishment and fitting out of retail outlets, our most recent project was on behalf of international retail company Orvis UK. As part of the complete re-fit we produced a bespoke cabinet for their fly-fishing rods, working from a very basic sketch.
We have also carried out both small and major repairs to several of their other branches and are proud to deliver all the maintenance needs for their UK headquarters.

Commercial Projects
We undertake a range of commercial projects from building repairs and maintenance to complete refurbishments and new builds. We have worked with some amazing clients including more recently CRC Industries UK, who have commissioned us with a variety of projects such as new concrete bases, car parking barriers, retaining walls and reception refurbishment.
